Near Boulder, Colorado
Five craggy, granite formations jut out at rakish angles from the East slope of Green Mountain, near Boulder. The striking formations have borne different names throughout time. The current name probably reflects a similarity that pioneer women saw in the shape of the rocks to the implements they used to iron their clothes. This is a great spot for hiking and a choice spot for rock climbing, with trails rated for everyone from beginners to world-class climbers.
